Quick steps

1. Press Ctrl + Show windows for a full screen screenshot.
2. Or press Ctrl + Shift + Show windows for region capture, then drag to select.
3. A thumbnail appears at the bottom-right. Click it to mark up or copy.

Screen Capture tool (Quick Settings)

1. Click the time (bottom-right) to open Quick Settings.
2. Click Screen capture. Pick Screenshot or Record, then choose full screen, window, or region.
3. Click the gear to pick sound input, show clicks, or change the save folder.

You can also press Ctrl + Shift + Show windows to open the capture bar directly.

Capture a single window

1. Press Ctrl + Alt + Show windows.
2. Click the window you want. A shadow is added for clarity.

Screen recording

1. Open the Screen Capture tool, switch to Record.
2. Pick full screen, window, or region.
3. Click the gear for mic on/off and other options.

Where your screenshots are saved

• Downloads by default: Files app → My files > Downloads.
• You can change the save location in the Screen Capture settings (gear icon) to a folder in Google Drive or another folder in My files.
• The clipboard copy button lets you paste into Docs, Gmail, or chat.

Edit or share

1. Click the thumbnail or open the image in the Gallery app.
2. Crop, draw, add text, or annotate.
3. Use Copy to clipboard or share from the Files app.

What is the Show windows key?

It is the key on the top row with a rectangle and two lines. On some keyboards it replaces F5.
