How to take a screenshot on Chrome OS (Chromebook)
Fast keys: press Ctrl + Show windows to capture the whole screen. For a region, press Ctrl + Shift + Show windows and drag.
The Show windows key is the rectangle with two lines (on top row, where F5 would be).

Capture a single window
- Press Ctrl + Alt + Show windows.
- Click the window you want. A shadow is added for clarity.

- Open the Screen Capture tool, switch to Record.
- Pick full screen, window, or region.
- Click the gear for mic on/off and other options.
Where your screenshots are saved
- Downloads by default: Files app → My files > Downloads.
- You can change the save location in the Screen Capture settings (gear icon) to a folder in Google Drive or another folder in My files.
- The clipboard copy button lets you paste into Docs, Gmail, or chat.
Edit or share
- Click the thumbnail or open the image in the Gallery app.
- Crop, draw, add text, or annotate.
- Use Copy to clipboard or share from the Files app.
